I am amazed with the options this pack has to offer. For the first week I had the pack, I found some feature I had missed almost every time I picked up the pack. From the double handles it features to grab the pack from the strap side and give it a heave, to the tons of pockets, and storage features. This pack is made to allow you options, options, options!
I did find the waist belt a bit rough on the hips if wearing a light weight shirt. It tended to rub some on the ole hips, but I think that will break in with use. With that said, I found the Falcon 2850 an awesome piece of gear!
Designed with an emphasis on versatility, the Falcon 2850 features a removable lid that converts to a separate bag that can be worn as a fanny pack or clipped to the shoulder straps for easy front-side access. With ample storage for two to three days in the field and built-in Kelty Radio and Battery Holder compatibility, the Falcon is an ideal pack for longer patrols or extended stays in the backcountry.
For patrols that require high- or low-volume gear storage and organization, the Falcon 2850 features a removable lid that converts to a fanny pack or clips to your shoulder straps and can be worn on your chest for easy access. A second, low-profile hood, is permanently attached and hidden in the storm collar. This low-profile hood can be utilized with reduced volumes when the primary hood is removed. This versatile pack is feature-rich, and it provides both top- and panel-loading access. The Falcon is compatible with the accessory Radio Holder and Battery Holder.
